The Swim Squad is a passionate and talented team of aquatic professionals committed to delivering the very best in at-home swim instruction and private lifeguarding services for pool parties and events.

We have redefined the swimming lesson experience for thousands of swimmers by providing a creative, dynamic, safe, and results-driven approach to teaching. Our reputation is built on solid technique, a fun and engaging curriculum, well-trained instructors, and reliable, high-quality service.

 

Why We Do What We Do

There are countless activities available to children today, but learning to swim is not just an activity—it’s a life-saving skill. While many options for swim instruction exist, The Swim Squad stands apart by doing one thing exceptionally well: we teach both children and adults to swim confidently, safely, and effectively in the comfort of their own home pool. 

Our Story

The Swim Squad was founded by Scott and Holly Morton. Holly has been a dedicated swim and gymnastics instructor throughout New Jersey since 1994. Her vision was to provide a convenient, personalized swim program for non-swimmers—and in June 2021, that vision expanded with the launch of The Swim Squad, a fully mobile swim school bringing certified instructors and lifeguards directly to residential pools. Holly also wanted to provide party Lifeguards to as many people as well. Having a trained set of eyes during a hectic event such as a backyard party, is essential.

Safety is Our Priority

All of The Swim Squad instructors and lifeguards are certified, experienced, and insured with a $3 million liability policy. We are proud to provide not only swim instruction but also professional lifeguard services for private pool parties.

Sadly, backyard pool drownings remain a serious concern. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), nearly 400 children under age 15 drown in pools and spas annually, with the majority occurring at residential locations. In 2021 alone:

• 380 children under 15 drowned—up from 339 in 2020 (a 12% increase)

• 81% of these drownings happened in residential pools

• Children under 5 accounted for the highest percentage of fatalities

These sobering statistics underscore why trained, vigilant eyes at private parties and events are so vital. The Swim Squad's party lifeguards are there to enforce pool safety rules, monitor swimmers of all ages, and act immediately in case of an emergency. Whether you’re a total beginner, managing a fear of water, or fine-tuning technique for competition, our instructors tailor every lesson to the student’s unique needs and goals.
